what to know travel during festive in Indonesia

Indonesia is the largest moslem population country in the whole world. That's the first thing you should remember when you plan a trip to Indonesia, especially when it comes to Eid Fitri.  Why do you have to keep it mind about that? So you can anticipate the situation during the festive season. Before and after Eid Fitri people will walk really slow. We are already in holiday mode, that is why. If you have like more than a week travel time, that won't be a problem, but if you have less than that make sure all your itinerary fix and make A, B, C, and so on plan. Well, actually that's for those who call themself a backpacker.  If you decide just to stay in Jakarta, things you might face are: almost free of trafic (that's why I love Jakarta during this season), less poluted air, less honking car. Sounds cool huh? But, that's not it. All good things will come with bad side, such as most of the food stall close (except the ones in every mall), limited public...

stranded

Nowhere to go during mid-day. Didn't want to go to office either. Hit the gas and let my muscle drove me away. In the end stranded at Taman Suropati. Sat under the shade and enjoy others activities. Captured someting from my eyed level point of view.

Jakarta on top

People say the number of skyscrapers in a city’s skyline is a sign of development. The more skyscrapers a region has, the more developed it is. Is it true? I spent almost all of my life in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. I lived in the outskirts of Jakarta. The highest building I see the most is the tip of the mosque in neighborhood, if we put the tower of base transceiver stations aside. Being in my neighborhood is bliss for me. Why? Because we “stay” on the ground, me and my neighbors are equal, we stand on the same ground. But, it will dramatically change when I drive my lovely motorbike to central of the capital. I get trapped in the concrete jungle. High rise buildings are everywhere, hotels, offices, malls, apartments and all. It freaks me out. I feel so tiny; the tall buildings are intimidating me. It is like it speaks to me, “Hey! You down there! Yes, you! You are powerless; the one with power should be inside of me, here in my 47th floor!” Why? The more power ...

Jakarta My POV #3

I have no idea, why do I want to go to this building, Rasuna Epicentrum. Actually, I dont really like the shape of any building, those never amazed me, but the outside views are attract me the most.  I was thinking one day, what it feels like to be on top and looking down? How does it feels to know that we are higher than anybody? I don't have a really good job which can support me to rent an apartment to get those kind of feelings. so, I prefer to go inside the skycrappers and look down and let me feel what is it like to be on high. I pretty much don't like it. I feel like a giant who wants to conquer land surround me in order to make another tall building to strengthen my power. I dont like the feeling at all.  This building, Rasuna Epicentrum, freaks me out. not because its creepy looks, but because its name. Epicentrum? it is like reflects the owner will, wants to be the center of anything. here are some of pics I taken while I was on the 42nd ...
